Work in good company
Free coworking sessions for small business owners
Running your own thing is brilliant but it's also really hard doing it on your own, and it can be really lonely.
With no colleagues to chat with at the water fountain and nobody to keep you accountable when you say you're going to do something it can be a real challenge to actually get work done.
So I'm doing something about it.
Why coworking is great for small businesses and getting work done
I strongly believe in the power of accountability.
I regularly meet with small biz pals to work together in coffee shops, I exercise with a small group and meet my friend outside (with no phones) to walk there...meaning I have to show up.
It constantly amazes me how powerful accountability really is.
And that's why I want to run these sessions.
It's called body doubling (and it works over a screen too).
There's like actual research behind it.
Having someone else there, quietly getting on with their own thing, makes it so much easier to get on with your thing. No willpower required, you just turn up and the focus sort of takes care of itself.
I've always worked better with a bit of company around.
Turns out most of us do.
Our first ever coworking session
Wednesday 12th August, 10:30 to 11:30am (UK time)
Pop your details in below and I'll send you the Google Meet link, plus a heads-up when the next sessions are coming up.
No commitment. Come to one, come to all, come whenever it suits.
You can unsubscribe any time.
And if you know someone else running a small business on their own who could do with the company, send them a this page. The more the merrier.
You got questions? I got answers
I want this coworking group to become a community. Something we all feel part of and something that legit helps us small creative business owners get work done.
I’ve answered all the questions I can think of but if there’s anything I haven’t covered please drop me an email to ask.

Anything.
Your website, your emails, your admin pile, your tax return, that thing you've been avoiding for weeks (months?!)
It doesn't have to be website work, even though that's my world. If you've got a to-do list and you work better when you're not on your own, this is the place for you.

Anyone running a small business solo or as a very small team.
Makers, creatives, coaches, freelancers, solopreneurs, educators, side hustlers, new to business, been in business a while…
…basically if you spend most of your working day on your own and could do with a bit of company and a lil nudge to get things done, come and join us.

New to this? Nervous? That's completely fine.
It's a friendly, low-key bunch of good humans and there's no pressure to say anything at all if you'd rather not. This is a zero judgement space.
Also I’m a bit nervous too cos although I’ve attended many coworking sessions before I’ve never held my own!!
So join me in this new venture. I want to build a real community and I would love you to be a part of it.

Coworking sessions happen online and last an hour.
We meet on Google Meet (you’ll be sent the link when you sign up)

Yup.
Free online coworking. I want to create a community - a space for people to show up and have a bit of chat (if you want) and then get some work done. There is no hidden agenda.
You bring whatever you're working on. I'll bring mine. We keep each other company and quietly hold each other accountable while we do the stuff we've been putting off.
-
Cameras on are encouraged, because that's what makes it feel like we're actually in a room together (it also helps to see that we are all real humans)
But zero pressure, do what feels right for you.
-
We’ll have a quick 10 min chat at the start, people can share what they are going to be working on (no pressure though if you don't want to talk you don’t have to), and then we get stuff done.
I’ll set a timer and let you know when the session is coming to an end.
We’ll have a quick 5 min check in to see how everyone got on and celebrate our wins.
There’s no teaching, no selling, no awkwardness. Just good company and accountability.
Come and get to know me
In case we haven't met yet...I'm Ishbel, a Glasgow-based web designer, and before that I spent 15 years running my own jewellery business. So I know the solo-business juggle inside out, the good bits and the lonely bits.
These coworking sessions are my way of making this small business topsy turvy journey feel less lonely, for you and honestly for me too.
Come and join us. It's nice in here.
