Why I love what I do
Before I fell in love with web design, I ran my own jewellery business for 17 years.
I know exactly what it's like to build something from the ground up.
I've worried about cashflow, wondered if I was charging enough, stayed up late trying to figure out how to get more customers.
I've been where you are. (hey, I”m still there!!)
I pivoted into web design cos I genuinely love helping other women in business make positive changes.
It’s feels important to be sharing the knowledge I've gathered over the years and seeing it make a real-time impact on another woman’s business.
Plus, my brain just gets building websites. I love the problem solving puzzle of it.
It's weird, I know. Most small business owners I chat to hate web design with a passion. But I love it.
The thing about DIY websites
When you run a small business, you're juggling everything right? And your website often gets pushed to the bottom of the list or half-done because you don't know where to start (or how to finish it).
I’ve lost count of how many self-built websites I’ve come across that just aren’t quite working:
Clunky layouts
Confusing navigation
Walls of overwhelming text
Sites where you genuinely can't work out how to buy the thing you came to buy (so you just leave)
And it bugs me. Because I can see exactly what needs to change to make the site flow, engage people, and convince them to take action.
But man, it is HARD to do all of that on your own.
